Dr. Chau M. Vu is a double board-certified physician in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Spine & Pain Institute Los Angeles. She earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University and completed a General Surgery internship followed by an Anesthesiology residency at Drexel University College of Medicine, where she was honored as Pain Resident of the Year.
She subsequently completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, one of the nation’s leading pain medicine fellowship programs, where she trained alongside Dr. Saifullah under nationally recognized leaders in the field.
Dr. Vu specializes in advanced interventional therapies, including spinal cord and dorsal root ganglion stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, sacroiliac joint interventions, regenerative medicine, and minimally invasive spine procedures. She regularly teaches and lectures on advanced pain therapies to physicians and fellows nationwide through organizations including the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience (ASPN), North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), and Pacific Spine & Pain Society (PSPS). In 2023, she received ASPN’s Young Innovator Award in recognition of her contributions to the field. She is also an active researcher and contributing author to national society guidelines.
Dr. Vu understands that pain affects every aspect of life. She takes the time to understand each patient’s story and goals, creating an individualized treatment plan focused on helping them return to the activities and people that matter most. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling, culinary adventures, wine, scuba diving, and spending time with family, friends, and animals.
